Hawk Renews Official SCCA Brake Status For Next Four Years
Sports Car Club of America announced today a four-year extension on its relationship with Hawk Performance, the Official Brake Pad of SCCA.
The new agreement, which runs through 2007, extends the initial two-year deal the two groups signed in 2002. Hawk (AMEX: HWK) is also stepping up its participation with The Tire Rack® SCCA ProSolo NationalSeries by becoming the sponsor of the Hawk Performance ProSolo Super Challenge.
Hawk will have its logo included on all newly created SCCA membership and collateral materials as well as advertising. SCCA will have its logo prominently placed on Hawk packaging.
“We are very pleased to continue this partnership,” SCCA President and CEO Steve Johnson said. “As SCCA is the leader of grassroots motorsports competition, Hawk continues to be the leader in the brake pad industry.
“By keeping Hawk as the official brake pad of SCCA, it means both sides can continue to enhance each others’ status by providing exposure that neither side could attain alone. It visually places two of the most respected names together for a larger consumer base to see.”
In addition to its sponsorship in ProSolo competition, Hawk will support other programs in SCCA. That support includes contingency programs for SCCA Pro Racing’s SPEED World Challenge and Mazdaspeed Miata Cup, as well as the SCCA ProRally Championship.
“The SCCA is an ideal platform to communicate our success in racing to the general consumer and the motorsports enthusiast,” Hawk Vice President of Global Sales & Market Tom Jaros said. ”Our continuing partnership, from a supplier and sponsorship position, only amplifies our brand building efforts and market position as a world-class friction manufacturer.”
