Jaguar Wraps Up Jerez Test
The Jaguar Racing team completed its penultimate three-day testing session before Melbourne at the Jerez circuit in northern Spain on Thursday.
With both Mark Webber and Christian Klien sharing testing duties for the second successive day, the team managed substantial mileage with which to continue its programme of aerodynamic development, tyre evaluation and general set-up work.
Day one saw Christian Klien running alone, practicing pit stops and basic set up work. He set a quickest lap of 1m19.272s from his 83 laps of the circuit. Joining Christian on the second of the three days, Mark confessed himself happy with the general balance of the R5 and managed a competitive 17 lap run at the end of the day.
"We are pleased with the way the test went," commented head of vehicle performance, Mark Gillan. "Both Mark and Christian completed significant mileage over the three days and we managed to complete our scheduled programme without and hiccups. We now look forward to the final test before Melbourne in Valencia next week."
Jaguar Racing heads to Valencia next week for its final pre-season test from 17-19 February with both drivers once again on duty.
