JMB Racing USA'S Ferrari 360 Modena No.11 To Return At Phoenix
JMB Racing USA was supposed to be one of the leading contenders to win the GT class at the upcoming Grand Prix of Miami at Homestead Miami Speedway in two weeks, but due to the heavy damage sustained to JMB Racing USA's Ferrari Modena 360 No.11 chassis during the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the car needed to return to Europe to be repaired, forcing JMB Racing USA to withdraw their entry from the upcoming event.
"We will be back at Phoenix with a brand new Ferrari 360 Modena chassis" announced team co-owner Ludovico Manfredi. "We know that the Grand Prix of Miami was a chance for our team to score precious points for the championship, but we believe that our team is strong enough, and missing one race will not jeopardize our chances to do well. We are aiming for a top-three championship position in the GT class and many GT class wins along the way and still have 10 races after Homestead to do so. It would have been a great opportunity to show our potential in the Florida race, especially after the difficult Daytona weekend and also because the next Rolex Series race takes place in our South Florida garden!" Commented Ludovico, co-owner of the Miramar based team.
The 2004 Rolex 24 at Daytona marked the first anniversary of American racing for JMB Racing USA and after a full season spent learning the American way of racing, JMB Racing USA is entered in the entire 2004 Rolex Sports Car Series with a minimum of one Ferrari 360 Modena.
On the European side of the Atlantic, JMB Racing is only weeks away from starting another wining assault in the FIA GT championship and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. JMB Racing recently got delivery of three brand new Ferrari 575 GTC, at Fiorano, Italy. This season, JMB Racing Europe will enter Ferrari Maranello 575 GTCs in the GT class, and Ferrari Modena 360 GTCs in the N-GT class. The eleven-race 2004 FIA GT championship begins March 28th in Monza, Italy. JMB will also participate in the Italian GT championship with the Ferrari 550 Maranello. 2004 is JMB Racing's seventh season of fidelity to Ferrari. The spirit of partnership and cooperation of the JMB race team and Ferrari has been instrumental in the team's outstanding racing achievements including 26 victories, 42 podium finishes, 18 pole positions and 16 track records.
