Cadillac drivers Max Angelelli and Andy Pilgrim set fast speeds in two 20-minute practice sessions before Round 1 of the SCCA Speed World Challenge GT Championship.<BR> <BR> “We’re excited that this historic week for Cadillac is finally here,” said David Spitzer, program manager for the Cadillac CTS-V race car. “We’ve been working to develop our CTS-V for quite some time and we think that the fans will really enjoy seeing these cars on the track. Our hope this week is to work hard and start off the season near the front.”<BR> <BR> The Cadillac CTS-V race cars set the fastest time in Wednesday's evening practice session, a best lap of 2:12.770 by No.16 Cadillac CTS-V driver Max Angelelli, after a morning session spent working to achieve a balanced setup. The Cadillac CTS-V is the first race car developed by GM Racing in conjunction with Cadillac and the new GM Performance Division, an in-house centre designed to explore potential enthusiast-oriented versions of production models. The same engineers who conceived the CTS-V for street use were directly involved in the creation of the race car. Drivers Max Angelelli and Andy Pilgrim voiced their confidence for the Cadillac in the cars’ first outing under official timing.<BR> <BR> “This is a great racing series and I am proud to be here with Cadillac,” said Angelelli. “When I think about the time we spent testing the car along with the GM engineers last year, we have really worked hard to get to this point.
