The Cadillacs will make their debut in Sunday's Grand-Am Cup 250, featuring both the Grand Sport and Sport Touring classes on Homestead-Miami Speedway's 2.3-mile road course.<BR> <BR> Mike Weinberg and Devon Powell will co-pilot the Powell Motorsport No. 11 Sunoco Ultra 94/Chemcraft Cadillac CTS-V, and the team will add an additional race car to the line-up, the No. 02 Rockland Standard Cadillac CTS-V, later in the season. Veteran endurance racing driver Don Knowles is expected to join the Powell outfit then.<BR> <BR> "You just have to drive a CTS-V for a minute to know that this will be one great car to race," Powell said. "We are a 'privateer' team and rely on our sponsors Sunoco, Chemcraft and Rockland Standard Gear to facilitate our racing programs in Grand-Am Cup. Sunoco was keen for us to keep racing production-type cars, Rockland remanufactures transmissions for all types of production vehicles and GM has always proven ready to give technical advice to us when we raced Firebirds and Corvettes over the past eight years."<BR> <BR> The Snipes Motorsport No. 26 Cadillac CTS-V driven by Peter Sachs and Chuck Snipes will also debut its Powell Motorsport-built Cadillac in Miami.<BR> <BR> "Peter Sachs and I have wanted this car from the beginning," Snipes said. "The first time I saw the car that was it great handling, great braking and an LS6 V-8 engine. It is going to be a competitive package straight out of the box."<BR> <BR> Powell not only serves as driver of the No. 11 Cadillac CTS-V, but also as a builder for the team, directing its Cadillac race car construction.<BR> <BR> "We have needed a lot of help and are grateful to all of our various partners," Powell said. "There are people at GM, like suspension development engineer Adam Dean, the HRP World gang, who supply most of our racing parts, Georgian Bay Motorsports who made our roll cages, our local GM Dealer Conlin Motors, Nick Oram our painter, and of course the hard working Powell crew. We have worked around the clock since late January with testing in-between.
