Two Vauxhalls are set to compete in the series: the brand new Vauxhall Monaro V8 which is being run by Emotional Engineering and the VX220 which will be fielded by Colin Blower Motorsport. <BR> <BR> The Vauxhall Monaro V8 is a race prepared version of the 5.7 litre road-going Monaro V8, already one of the hottest properties in the Australian supercar market. Emotional Engineering plans to contest the British GT championship, with former World Superbikes ace, Aaron Slight and reigning British GT Cup Champion, Matt Griffin, piloting this new addition to the grid. The team is planning to debut on track at Mondello Park in May, although the team will be unveiling the new car at Donington.<BR> <BR> After 12 years of racing and winning in the TVR Tuscan Challenge, leading sportscar team, Colin Blower Motorsport, will add another Vauxhall model to the British GT grid, with Dan Eagling and Rob Croydon behind the wheel of the popular Vauxhall VX220. The team plans to contest all 16 rounds of the Championship in the GT Cup class. <BR> <BR> The VX220 will feature the distinctive red and white VX Racing livery that is a familiar sight at the front of the British Touring Car Championship grids, with the VX Racing team in this series currently enjoying triple championship status as it heads into the 2004 season, while the Monaro V8 will display the branding as part of the livery of the primary sponsor to be unveiled this weekend. VX Racing is the motorsport brand of Vauxhall Motors, an automotive manufacturer with a heritage and pedigree in motor racing. <BR> <BR> Stuart Harris, Manager, Motorsport and Media, Vauxhall Motors, explains the expansion of VX Racing, saying, “Our BTCC VX Racing team, running three Vauxhall Astra Coupés, puts one of our most popular models in front of significant trackside and television audiences throughout the year.
