Team For Selected Rounds Of American Le Mans Series</B> <BR> <BR> The two most winning drivers in the history of the American Le Mans Series, Sascha Maassen and Lucas Luhr, will join the new BAM! Porsche team for selected series events in the remainder of the 2004 season, team officials have announced. <BR> <BR> The two German drivers were the GT class champions of the ALMS the past two seasons while driving for Alex Job Racing and have taken more victories than any other drivers since the formation of the series in 1999. Maassen drove for the Job team and scored his 21st career ALMS win in the recent Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, the opening event of the 2004 season, while Luhr has 18 career ALMS wins. <BR> <BR> Contracted as Porsche factory drivers, Maassen and Luhr were originally scheduled by Porsche to spend the 2004 season racing in Europe in the FIA GT Series, therefore opening what had been their fulltime seats with the Job team to Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb. Maassen and Luhr were only scheduled to drive for the Job team at Sebring and in Chevy presents Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, the two long-distance events on the ALMS schedule, in which many teams add a third driver to their lineup. <BR> <BR> However, Maassen and Luhr are now scheduled to drive either separately or together in six of the eight remaining races on the 2004 ALMS calendar for BAM! (British American Motorsport), joining Leo Hindery behind the wheel of the No.43 YES Network Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. <BR> <BR> Both will drive with Hindery in the ALMS events at Lime Rock Park and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, while Maassen will drive with Hindery at Mosport International Raceway and Road America. Luhr will join Hindery at Infineon Raceway and Portland International Raceway. They will also continue to race in Europe. <BR> <BR> "It's a good opportunity to have my championship try in Europe and to still be involved in American racing with a great new American racing team with a lot of potential," said Maassen, who has raced fulltime in the ALMS the past four seasons. "The BAM! crew doesn't make any mistakes and that's what you need to win." <BR> <BR> "Thanks to Leo for giving us the opportunity to drive with him," said Luhr.
