Signs that it had the potential to get close to the front running GT cars were always offset by reliability issues. Two engineers have expressed the opinion that there is nothing to stop the car matching the Listers and Vipers, and now it seems that Gerard Larrousse has been tasked with developing the car on behalf of GT Development. There are indications that a well known Italian entrant could be running it in 2001.<BR> <BR> The Wieth Racing 550 will be driven by Franz and Nico Wieth, plus Ernst Palmberger.
