Huff Elevated To Third In Silverstone BTCC
Robert Huff was promoted to third place in yesterday’s third race of the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone after second-placed Anthony Reid was awarded a 10-second penalty for his part in an incident with series leader James Thompson. The 24 year-old BES Plc-backed driver from Cambridge drove brilliantly all weekend, mixing it with former BTCC champions to take tenth and seventh in the day’s first two races and now his elevation to third, gives him his second podium of the year, on only his third ever BTCC event.
“Obviously I’m delighted,” said Rob. “A second and third for myself and my SEAT Sport UK team-mate Jason (Plato), is a real result, especially when you consider we had no dry testing in the car. We said at the start of the season if we could get a couple of podiums before the end of the year, we’d be over the moon but now we’ve had five out of nine races which is brilliant. I just need to make sure next time I get on the top step.”
