With a time of 20.815 (178.487 mph or 287.246 km/h), Tagliani qualified seventh for the 250-lap Saturday night race, which will be his 80th Champ Car career start.<BR> <BR> Tagliani and the Johnson Controls crew resolved earlier handling issues and improved the speed of the No. 8 Johnson Controls Lola for Round Three of the 2004 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered By Ford. “The Rocketsports/Johnson Controls team has done a lot of hard work to give me a good car tonight. We had a strong car in testing (at the Mile in May, 2004) and came with the same baseline (set up) this weekend. The only change was a new tub, so if was frustrating to have the handling difficulties we did yesterday,” explained Tagliani. <BR> <BR> “The guys (Rocketsports crew) worked for hours to dismantle and prepare the car we planned and it performed as we expected. Unfortunately it came one day late, but it’s good to have a fast car that feels right and is in the range of competitive times for the race. I feel good about our set-up and the car I’ll have going into tomorrow’s race here at the Milwaukee oval,” concluded Tagliani, who gave Rocketsports its first Pole and finished fifth at the Mile in 2003. <BR> <BR> The Time Warner Cable Roadrunner 250 marks Tagliani’s 80th Champ Car start. Reflecting on his career, a very introspective Tagliani reported, “I’ve had five fast years and many adventures, thanks to Champ Car. I’ve grown as a driver, and as a person, through each race experience. <BR> <BR> “I’ve learned how unpredictable racing is, and how chance or luck can change everything you’ve planned without warning. I’ve learned to accept and roll with whatever circumstances come my way, but there’s no substitute for experience; it’s great preparation for the ‘next time’ and it teaches you to see racing - and life - with an open mind. <BR> <BR> “That being said, I’m still looking for my WIN!” admitted Tagliani. “I work with some excellent, knowledgeable people and we’re pushing hard to get that first win.
