Huff Happy With 11th On Irish Debut
SEAT Sport UK driver Rob Huff from Cambridge, posted the 11th quickest time in qualifying for round 13 of the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship at Mondello Park today. The 24 year-old, making his Irish racing debut, had not ventured out onto the twisty, technically demanding circuit prior to this morning's free practice sessions but declared himself happy with his performance and that of his SEAT Toledo Cupra.
"I'm quite happy, considering it's the first time I've been to Mondello and this morning was the first time I'd driven the circuit in the race car," said Rob. "We tried a different set-up this afternoon for qualifying and it didn't work, and I didn't get a great run on the first set-up so I know there's another half a second in me. I'm learning the circuit all the time and it's not the easiest circuit in the world to learn, so I'm pretty pleased to get into the top eleven. It's not a bad position to start from as you can do quite a lot from there so I'll have to have a bit of think tonight about my strategy for tomorrow. And what's really important is that we've improved by 1.8 seconds from practice to qualifying."
