Scarallo, driver of the No. 06 ROH Wheels/Group A Autotrend/Toyo Tyres Chevrolet Corvette, enters Portland with new equipment and new resolve. The Albertsons Trans-Am 100 is scheduled for Saturday, June 19 at 3:45 p.m. (PDT).<BR> <BR> The 1.969 mile, 12-turn permanent road course is new to Scarallo, but the sophomore Trans-Am driver is excited about his first trip to the Pacific Northwest. <BR> <BR> “Every racer raves about Portland and I am looking forward to racing there,” said Scarallo, who finished 13th at Long Beach after suffering mechanical failures. “I can’t wait to get going and be back on the track. I have unfinished business from Long Beach and expect a top-five finish at Portland.” <BR> <BR> Scarallo experienced mechanical problems with his car’s gearbox while at Long Beach. He enters Portland with a new Hewland Gearbox installed by his Baucom Motorsports team. Scarallo joined the Baucom team, which fields the No. 86 Ford Mustang for John Baucom, this year. <BR> <BR> Scarallo said he will have another advantage with the Series-mandated addition of hood louvers to the Chevrolet Corvette. <BR> <BR> “The hood louvers should provide downforce that will prevent the car from lifting,” said Scarallo. “All the Corvettes will run a bit smoother with the louvers in place.”<BR> <BR> The Head And Neck Support Device (HANS) is mandatory for all Trans-Am competitors beginning with round two at Portland.
