Rocketsports driver, Tomy Drissi ran a 1:14.297 (95.406 mph) and secured his first Trans-Am pole. Teammate, Tommy Kendall, driving the latest generation of the AJ-V8 4-vavle Jaguar engine, gave the Rocketsports duo a sweep of the top-two starting positions with a fast lap of 1:14.431 (95.325 mph).<BR> <BR> Drissi, who recently added the sponsor AVP (Alien vs. Predator) the movie, to his No. 5 Jaguar XKR, surpassed his best career qualifying position of second by winning the Portland pole. Drissi paced the field in practice and backed that up with the fastest lap in qualifying. “I am happy to be on the pole, I’ve never been there before. I would have like to have started beside Paul to give me an opportunity to learn more,” said Drissi of his first Trans-Am series pole. <BR> <BR> “I will definitely enjoy the time when we grid the cars and my Jaguar is on the pole. With all that the guys have been through today, I’m glad to give them a pole. We had a problem with the clutch, at the last minute, and the guys had it changed in less than an hour and 15 minutes. We went out not knowing if everything was tight, but the crew did a great job today,” added Drissi.<BR> <BR> Driver of the No. 11 Jaguar R Performance XKR, Tommy Kendall, in only his second race since his return to Trans-Am competition, gained his second straight top-five starting position. “At the end we were pretty close.
