Staying With Marcos |
|
Ben Padfield at CBH confirms that “we will be sticking with Marcos, which has surprised a lot of people. There were many reasons for this, mainly the plethora of Porsches that were entering and the view that the customer cars won't regularly beat the works effort and the only cars that stand a chance are the different manufacturers - effectively the same (role) as the Speed 6 this year.”
“We have also been allowed to develop the car extensively, which we were prevented from doing last year. These mods. have proved in initial tests to make a significant difference, therefore leaving us very confident for 2001.”
CBH will be running two GTO cars next year and would be interested in talking to interested drivers for the second car, which already has sponsors signed, so the drives would be subsidised. They’re out to win the class, but the Marcos entries are going to be out-numbered by the Porsches and TVRs.
