Announcing Claudia Hurtgen as “the best lady driver in the world,” Rob Schirle confirms his Adelaide GTS line-up as Vic Rice, Ms. Hurtgen and Kevin Buckler.
Jurgen Lorenz drives the Cirtek GT3R, with his partners yet to be announced.
After Adelaide, the two cars will be flown to Daytona, staying in the US for the second round of the Grand-Am, at Homestead, then Sebring for the ALMS event a week later. At Daytona, the 911 GT2 will be driven by David Warnock, Vic Rice, Hubert Haupt and Claudia Hurtgen. This is the class-winning car fron 1999.
Cirtek are heading for a busy season once they return to Europe, as they will take delivery of a 2001 spec. GT3R and a brand new GT3RS.
Their 911 GT2 will have an older ‘sister’ by then, the Price / Robinson ex-Roock 911 GT2. The newer car will then commence a season in the new Interactive Sportscar Championship (largely based in the UK), to be driven by Hubert Haupt and Claudia Hurtgen.
There’s more…………the GT3RS will be entered at Le Mans (drivers already confirmed but not announced,) alongside a Pilbeam-Judd, in which two drives are still available.
“I don’t think people can accuse me of standing idle, can they?” asks the busy Mr. Schirle. All this news goes on one section of the news pages – which aren’t designed for teams that race in so many categories all over the world!
