Said, driver of the No. 33 Applied Computer Solutions/GE Access Ford Mustang in the Trans-Am Series, is racing in all three scheduled major events Saturday’s NASCAR Autozone Southwest Tour event; as well as the Nextel Cup Series and Trans-Am Series events on Sunday.<BR> <BR> Said started his weekend on a high note, winning the pole for the Southwest Tour event before qualifying 19th for Sunday’s Nextel Cup race.<BR> <BR> “I have run several races in one weekend and have had good results,” said Said, who finished third in the Trans-Am season opener at Long Beach and returns to Trans-Am competition after a one-race hiatus. “The real challenge for this weekend will be changing from car to car for every hot session on the track. Each of the cars is very different. It’s just like having three different girlfriends. They all have special needs and you have to be responsive to each.<BR> <BR> “Each of the teams are very experienced,” added Said, “and that will help immensely.<BR> <BR> “This will be a tough weekend, though,” concluded Said, who finished second in last year’s Trans-Am race here. “I ran the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in Germany a couple weeks ago and this weekend will be tougher than that.”<BR> <BR> 2003 Trans-Am Series Drivers’ Champion Scott Pruett will join Said in the Nextel Cup race Sunday, starting sixth. Pruett, who won the Trans-Am race here last year in the No. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR, will compete in this weekend’s Nextel Cup race in a Dodge Intrepid R/T fielded by Chip Ganassi Racing.
