Boris Said Fastest In First Round At Infineon
Boris Said turned in the fastest time during first-round practice Saturday morning for Sunday’s Trans-Am 100 at Infineon Raceway. The 2002 Motorock Trans-Am Series champion, driving the No. 33 Applied Computer Solutions/GE Access Ford Mustang, turned the 1.968-mile permanent road course in one minute, 14.508 seconds at an average speed of 95.088 miles per hour.
Greg Pickett, who flirted with the first position throughout the session, was second quickest in the No. 6 Cytomax Jaguar XKR. 2003 Rookie of the Year Jorge Diaz, Jr. (No. 8 Puerto Rico Grand Prix Jaguar XKR), Randy Ruhlman (No. 49 Preformed Line Products Chevrolet Corvette) and Tommy Kendall (No. 11 Jaguar R Performance XKR) completed the top five.
