The No. 11 Jaguar R Performance XKR never lost second place as Kendall showed the true performance of the Jaguar AJ-V8 production based engine. Kendall’s now leads in championship points by one over Rocketsports owner Paul Gentilozzi. Teammate, Tomy Drissi started third and maintained the position until lap 18 when his day early. Driven by his momentum from his Portland pole and second place finish, Drissi had hoped for another podium finish in the No. 5 AVP-the movie Jaguar XKR. <BR> <BR> Kendall’s excitement of being back in the series and commitment to the Jaguar grows at every event. Sundays second place finish gave the new Jaguar AJ-V8 4-vavle engine its highest finish. Kendall’s last podium finish was at Pikes Peak in September of 1997. “I had big plans for today, the engine had been at its best this morning,” said Kendall. “I’ve had an absolute gas this year and that with an 11th, 5th and a 2nd, we’re going to get better. I have to thank the folks at Jaguar, they really support the effort and it adds a great bit of prestige to the series.”<BR> <BR> Rocketsports teammate, Tomy Drissi had a car to beat all weekend long turning some of the fastest times in practice. The No. 5 Jaguar team has shown that it will be a contender for the championship. “Disappointing,” described Drissi of his race. “I was hoping to gain some points and move on to Cleveland but the Rocketsports guys gave me a great handling car, they did their job, but some went wrong and ended our day early.”<BR> <BR> </FONT></TD></TR> </TABLE><BR> </CENTER> <BR><CENTER><font size="1" color="#808080" face="Tahoma">Copyright ©2000-©2023 TotalMotorSport</font></CENTER> </td> </tr> </table> </body>
