Andy Pilgrim, driving the No.8 Cadillac CTS-V race car, climbed back from the rear of the field in a remarkable drive to finish fourth. Cadillac recorded a fifth straight top-four finish in five races in 2004. <BR> <BR> "Andy Pilgrim had an amazing drive today and undoubtedly proved to the fans what the Cadillac CTS-V can do," said Karen Rafferty, marketing manager for Cadillac V-series and Cadillac motorsports. "Max had some bad luck but overall it was an amazing team effort. The battle continues for the Manufacturers' Championship and we're looking forward to our next race."<BR> <BR> The 50-minute race ran under a number of caution periods due to accidents and unfortunately bad luck did not escape the black CTS-V race cars. After qualifying second, Max Angelelli seemed set for a return to the podium and was holding strong in third place until an accident on lap nine. The Italian's car crashed into the wall at Turn 1 and did not continue. Pilgrim climbed toward the front until he, too, suffered a race incident at Turn 1 and was knocked to the back of the pack. Pilgrim worked his way back to 16th place by his next pass across the finish line and then ran remarkably fast laps to the applause of the fans. Catching one and sometimes two cars per lap, Pilgrim passed into fourth place on the second to last lap. He was rewarded with the Remus Power Move of the Race award for his hero drive. <BR> <BR> "I'm really happy for the team today," said Pilgrim. "We had a bit of bad luck in getting spun, but we also had some good luck, too. Fortunately we weren't hit in the wheel and I was able to get back on the track. My Cadillac ran very well and the team gave me an excellent race car. I wish we could have been in the position to win, but to move through the pack is an amazing feeling."<BR> <BR> Pilgrim's teammate Max Angelelli looks forward to the next race after a premature ending to his afternoon.<BR> <BR> "The accident today was fully my mistake and I feel bad for my team that I could not get any points for Cadillac today," said Angelelli. "I also apologized to Randy Pobst and I'm happy I didn't take him out with me.
