BTCC Prize Fund |
1 Million Prize & Promotion Budget |
|
Non-works entries in the Touring class will share a £400 000 prize fund in 2001, which should be quite an incentive for more teams to enter this class.
The Production class is allocated £100 000. This sum will be in addition to monies provided by BF Goodrich.
Another half million pounds will be used to promote the series and individual meetings.
BF Goodrich will be the BTCC’s sole tyre supplier and will support the Production Class with the company’s own prize fund scheme. The winning driver in the Championship will receive £5 000, with £3 000 for second and £2 000 for third. The top team will receive £6 500, second getting £3 500 and third £3 000.
BMP has also confirmed that between four and eight of European Formula Racing’s two-seater F1-style cars will appear at each BTCC meeting, with competition winners and celebrities being taken for rides in the cars.
