Kletjian, driving the No. 20 upscalelingeries.com Qvale Mangusta, finished a Trans-Am career-best eighth overall. Kletjian now leads the GT-1 Championship points, sitting three markers ahead of Ross Murray. <BR> <BR> Kletjian again celebrated in victory circle with the top-three drivers and was brought in the press room for the post-race press conference. <BR> <BR> “It’s nice to be back up here on this podium with three living legends in this Series,” said Kletjian of his champagne shower courtesy of winner Paul Gentilozzi and second- and third-place finishers Tomy Drissi and Tommy Kendall. “Again, I just want to urge more GT-1 guys to come out and give it a try. It’s been nothing but a positive experience for us. <BR> <BR> Kletjian said his car was perfect from the very beginning of the weekend. <BR> <BR> “This was probably the smoothest weekend we’ve ever had in racing,” said Kletjian. “We had no problems with the car all weekend. At the beginning of the race, we had some brake problems. Part way through the race, the car really came in nicely.” <BR> <BR> Kletjian initially planned to finish his season here. However, his results Sunday may have changed his mind. <BR> <BR> “It’s been a great season for us,” said Kletjian, who finished ninth at Toronto two weeks ago. “The hard part is this was going to be our last race of the year. But it’s kind of hard to end it right now that I’m in the lead in points. We’re going to take a look at our schedule and our budget and see if we can make a few more.” <BR> <BR> The GT-1 Driver Development Program, announced earlier this year, will award the GT-1 Drivers’ Championship, presented for the first time in 2003, and will further recognize the importance of GT-1 involvement in Trans-Am competition. In order to create more visibility, the Program will recognize the highest-finishing GT-1 competitor at each event during winner’s circle festivities.
