The result is yet another top-four finish in Cadillac's quest for the 2004 Manufacturers' championship. <BR> <BR> "The fans saw some great racing today," said Karen Rafferty, marking manager for Cadillac V-series and motorsports. "We had some adverse conditions but I think the team did a great job to prepare three very good race cars. We've got some work to do but we have another opportunity to improve our position in tomorrow's race."<BR> <BR> Starting from the pole position, Max Angelelli held third position and looked set to finish on the podium. Team members did a fantastic job to prepare the No.16 Cadillac CTS-V. Just one week ago, the team stripped the car completely back to its chassis in order to repair damages from Portland. In today's race, Angelelli ultimately finished fourth after a late race incident where a slower, lapped car held him up.<BR> <BR> "I wish I could have been able to finish on the podium for Cadillac today," said Angelelli, driver of the No.16 Cadillac CTS-V. "I was caught up by lapped traffic and the Viper got a better line and passed."<BR> <BR> Ron Fellows qualified third but was forced to start at the back of the pack, from pit lane, after the No.12 CTS-V did not roll out to the grid in time. The Canadian marched through the pack, from 22nd position, finishing ninth in an impressive display of driving. Although it was a disappointing result for the champion driver, he is looking forward to Sunday's qualifying session and race.<BR> <BR> "It was disappointing to start from pit lane," said Fellows. "We didn't know we had to leave pre-grid in order, but apparently we made a mistake. It was frustrating to catch the lead cars but then not be able to pass."<BR> <BR> Andy Pilgrim had another exciting race, fighting tooth and nail with four cars throughout the majority of the race. After starting eight, Pilgrim finished an impressive fifth.<BR> <BR> "This was the closest, toughest sprint race I've ever been a part of," said Pilgrim. "In the company we were racing, a fifth place finish is great for us.
