Miracle Motorsports Continues 2nd Place Class Victory Winning Streak
For the 3rd race in a row, Miracle Motorsports brings home a second place LMP2 Class Victory from Mosport International Raceway in Canada.
James Gue qualified the No.10 Nissan powered Lola on Saturday afternoon. Posting a qualifying time of 1:16.58, that was a good enough run for 9th place overall on today's starting grid. Starting the car was driver Ian James (Orlando, FL). Because of the last minute starting driver change, the No.10 entry began the uphill battle in today's Toronto Grand Prix of Mosport, from pit lane. Ian James was the first behind the wheel because he had another commitment at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car course later in the day.
John Macaluso, team owner and driver, finished up the day in the Lola, taking the chequered flag around 2:45 PM, EST. Completing today's event was not an easy task for the Miracle Motorsports team, however. Very early on in this event, the alternator failed, forcing frequent pit stops to replace the battery in the Lola Nissan. The frequent pit stops placed the No.10 Miracle Motorsports/Yokohama/ ADVAN entry several laps behind the P2 leader, the No.30 Intersport Racing car.
"Today's accomplishment is owed to Michael Gue, the man who makes all of our race strategy decisions. I thought we were going to have to park this thing," stated Macaluso after the race. "This did not look like a good situation, but we trusted Michael, and here we are. We owe him for this victory!"
