The team reports that the chassis is in the early production stages, and is slated for testing in the beginning of December. The team plans to make its Rolex Series debut in the 2005 Rolex 24 At Daytona. <BR> <BR> "We are looking forward to being a part of the Daytona Prototype program and to be racing in the Rolex Series next year," team president Rob Finlay said. "I view the addition of a Daytona Prototype to Finlay Motorsports as an important strategic move for expanding and ensuring the continued success of our current businesses." <BR> <BR> The team has signed Michael McDowell as the chief driver for the Prototype for the 2005 racing season, and will be evaluating potential co-drivers over the coming months.<BR> <BR> "With the explosive growth of sports car racing, I am very excited to be a part of the high-profile Rolex Sports Car Series," McDowell said. "It is a great career opportunity for me as well as the entire team at Finlay Motorsports." <BR> The team has hired Cameron Motorsports Management to run the day-to-day vehicle operations and mechanics of the Daytona Prototype. Finlay indicated that the team will continue to campaign a car in the Grand-Am Cup Series through the remainder of the 2004 season and throughout 2005. <BR> <BR> Although the building of the Daytona Prototype is privately funded, Finlay Motorsports is offering sponsorship packages for the Rolex Series vehicle for the 2005 season.
