Miracle Motorsports Takes LMP2 Pole Position At Road America With New Courage
With the newest addition to the Miracle Motorsports family, the No.10 Courage entry edged out the No.30 Intersport Lola by a three tenths of a second in today's qualifying for the Road America 500 from Elkhart Lake.
After an incident in morning practice did not allow for any times to be posted, Ian James piloted the No.10 entry to an impressive 1.58:8, an average speed of 122.6 mph, around the 4.048 mile track. The No.30 Lola of Clint Field was close behind with a 1.59:1.
Following a short distance behind, will be the team car to the No.10, the No.11 Miracle Motorsports entry. The Miracle Motorsports/Yokohama/ADVAN Lola/AER car will start from 3rd position, qualified by Mike Borkowski, at a 2.09:2. Team owner/driver, John Macaluso will co-pilot the No.11 entry this weekend.
"Now THAT was fun!" stated Ian James over the radio as he brought the No.10 Courage down pit lane post-qualifying. James Gue (Athens, GA) will join Ian in the driver's seat in the Courage this weekend. "This car is great," stated team owner, Macaluso, earlier in the weekend. "The boys are going to love this car!".
