Huff Lines Up Seventh At Brands
Rob Huff will line up seventh on the grid for Round 22 of the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch tomorrow. The 24 year-old Cambridge driver again out-qualified his SEAT Sport UK team-mate, Jason Plato, piloting the SEAT Toledo Cupra to a time of 49.707s around the 1.2262 mile Indy circuit just 0.375s behind pole-man Matt Neal.
The youngster, in only his first season in the close-fought tin-top series has proved more than a match for 2001 Champion Plato and took second last time out at the Kent track, in only his fourth ever BTCC race. Now the reigning Holiday Inn SEAT Cupra Champion aims to go one better tomorrow and climb the top step of the podium.
“I’m reasonably happy with seventh yes; I was running fourth for much of the time though until I came in for some fresh rubber then I got baulked on a potentially quicker lap after that. But the car feels really good, a really good balance so tomorrow should see an interesting few races.
I’m really looking forward to it.”
Tomorrow’s Rounds 22, 23 and 24 of the BTCC will kick off with the first of the 24-lap races starting at 10.45. The finishing positions of that race will determine the grid for Round 23, with the top ten reversed.
Round 23 will start at 13.40 and Round 24 will commence at 16.07.
