Kevin Jeannette passes on the news that Gunnar Racing will have Wayne Jackson (car owner), Paul Newman, Mike Brockman and Gunnar Jeannette in the Porsche 911 GT1 at Daytona, while the newly delivered GT3RS will be driven by father and son Joe and Jay Policastro, Leon Desimone and TBA. The front end of the RS is subtly different from the GT3R, with the splitter incorporated into the panel, which would suggest that repairs are going to be more expensive….
Gunnar Racing are expecting their Lola B2K/40 on January 1, target “Le Mans and the full ALMS,” says Kevin Jeannette. “Gunnar and Mike Brockman will be joined by a third driver in France.” Jeannette is expecting the two litre six cylinder Porsche turbo to be the best solution for getting through Le Mans – and he might just be right. If and when the four cylinder turbos and atmospheric racing engines wilt, will the Lola come storming home?
