The team have purchased an ex Reiser-Callas 911 GT3R, Spencer Pumpelly himself remarking that, "this will be the first time I will be racing a car in GT that isn't older than I am!"<BR> <BR> "We have been testing the car at Virginia International Raceway, and so far, things are looking good for our first race. We have signed on some incredible talent and I feel fortunate to be sharing the driving with these great people. And I love having modern equipment!"<BR> <BR> Joining Pumpelly at the Rolex will be Steven Ivankovich, a veteran of the Ferrari Challenge series, with Skip Barber Driving Instructor - and Speedvision World Challenge competitor - Rick DiIorio (pronounced De-oreo) making the third member of the team. The fourth completes the intriguing line-up: Spencer’s 55 year old father Tom returns to the Rolex 24. Pumpelly Snr. actually led the race overall in 1982, in a 512 Ferrari, then drove a Ford GTP, for none other than Tom Milner, in ’88 and ‘89. The 2001 Rolex 24 will be his first event in 11 years. Earnhardts, look out.<BR> <BR> "Nothing has really changed since then, the goal is still to win the race,” remarked Tom.
