Thoughts on his debut |
|
|
With thanks to Paul Lawrence, we find that:
a) David Addison is now licensed to race, having passed his ARDS test at Silverstone
b) His racing debut in the Winter Mini Challenge race will be at at Silverstone on November 4th
c) Despite all sorts of pathetic excuses, he cannot get out of it
"I don’t have a licence"
"I don't have a helmet"
"I don't have overalls"
"I don't have Mini Se7en Racing club membership"
"My mum won't let me"
and "I'm scared"
....were all thrown out by the committee set up to get him to (put up or) shut up.
d) Numerous luminaries in the racing world are lining up to enjoy the imminent spectacle
"....we now have a new Mini hero to worship!" Marcus Simmons, Autosport
"He's not very clever at getting out of things, is he!" Roger Etcell
"I would not miss this moment for all the tea in China. This moment is going to make the winter months fly past. What's that about people who live in glass houses and all that?" Matt Kelly
"I am not sure if the Mini racing fraternity is ready for Addison!!!!! This will be an experience of a lifetime! Good luck my friend!" Emma Strawford, Castle Combe
"Nice story! I bet Jenson Button is having sleepless nights." Peter Morris, Silverstone
"Bags I Clerk it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeease! How much will I have to pay???????????" Neil Ginn, BRDC
"Fantastic!!!! 'bout time I had the chance to get my own back after he's taken the p*** out of my Legends and Global GT Light's adventures!!!" Paul Musselle
"Oh this should be good!" Martin Short
"Can he carry an on-board digi-cam, so we can all download the resulting pictures from the web for reliving the excitement during those long winter evenings??" Martin Haven
Suggestions that Addison is already suffering from WSS (Weak Sphincter Syndrome) are reportedly untrue, the man himself allegedly responding with the remark, "I'm not sh1tting myself, you b******s."
He will be.
Bookmakers report that the odds on Addison interviewing himself on the podium are "very long." |
