Tim Sugden Motorsport will be running a Porsche GT3R in the GTO class of the 2001 Privilege GT Championship. Sugden himself will be driving, partnering Paul Knapfield. The latter isn’t a youngster in racing terms, but he was a very proficient karter quite a few years ago, and has already proven his ability in five tests with the team.
”He’s quick already,” remarked Sugden. “He’s within a couple of seconds of me on a damp track, and that’s with no Porsche experience.”
Vent-Axia continue their support of Tim Sugden’s endeavours on the track. “I’m dizzy with how much we’ve got going on. We’ve got three Formula Fords to run, plus the Scholarship, plus the Privilege car to run.” Sugden will also be continuing his partnership with Steve O’Rourke in the EMKA Porsche in the FIA Championship (photo), a drive that will cause him to miss some of the Privilege rounds. Stephen Day’s name has been mentioned in connection with standing in for the busy team owner and driver, as has Jim Edwardes’ (2000 Clio Champion, and managed by Tim Sugden).
