More on these stories in due course:
John Reid at TVR explains that. "We've made a number of changes to the Speed 12 since last year, but we haven't tested them all yet." Details of the changes and their effects shuld be known within three weeks or so. Steve Hyde is looking forward to driving the developed version of last year's chassis: "We're sure we can be right up there. We're running off the back of a year's effort and development from the factory." Steve has a lot of interest from potential partners.
John Reid is expecting to see four Tusacn Rs in the GTO class "eventually." Two are likely to start the season, the Wilds / Stanton car and Martin Short's.
Adam Simmons is planning an exciting season for Harlow Motorsport: "We've now got a state of the art workshop, and we're being asked to run other cars (GT3Rs) besides our own." Adam was seen deep in conversation with Ben McLoughlin. "If we can make it happen with Ben, we will."
Neil Cunningham explained that "the engine is going in the Bob Watson Motorsport 996 right now, and we're hoping to test at the end of the month. I should know my partner in a week or so. It's a proper GT car, and it should be right up with Lister pace." His partner should be a young, "highly rated" British driver.
Marino Franchitti and Richard Lyons were presented on the Autosport Stage as the two known Parr Motorsport / Porsche GB drivers. No announcement was made about the two drivers for the other car, which is still awaited from the factory.
A Saleen S7R was present, but no announcement was made regarding drivers for the proposed Ecurie Ecosse entry.
Mike Haines (Mike Haines Racing) and Graham Nash (NCK) will not be Privilege entrants this year. They're both planning two car ISC entries.
Shane Bland will be driving the Eclipse Motorsport Mantis GTO in 2001. The team are confident that they have found much of the time they were missing during 2000, thanks to their own development work.
