This area will be utilized to build a temporary road for the normal traffic during the flattening of the hump (Mulsanne is a route nationale).<BR> <BR> It’s rather like diverting a river to build a dam, but in this case, the ‘dam’ is being removed……<BR> <BR> Local feelings are apparently still running high over this change to the classic track. The problem dates back to Le Mans ’99 and the Mercedes incidents, but to be fair there were indications that at least one car was lifting its front wheels at this point during 2000’s qualifying sessions. But to organise a race meeting, the ACO need FIA approval, so that’s that. <BR> <BR> Marc: if you had stood on the tarmac, the track would have lined up with the dashboard on the site and we could have inagined driving down Mulsanne. But then maybe you wouldn't have survived to forward the photograph!
