Both teams have firmed up their plans to run Mantis GTOs in the Privilege Championship.
Eclipse Motorsport will run a pair of Marcos Mantis GTOs. They’re hard at work converting a Mantis to GTO spec., to run alongside the GTO they entered in 2000. Shane Bland will head the team's driver squad.
"We're developing the cars in conjunction with Race Solutions and the current GTO car is under-going a major overhaul," reports team boss John Griffiths. "The car will definitely be improved over the 2000 car," adds Griffiths, who could join the driver squad depending upon other signings.
Alun Edwards’ ISL Motorsport are also going the Mantis GTO route, by converting their existing Mantis. The one make series won’t be running in the UK this year, so an upgrade makes a lot of sense.
Despite those stories of a fleet of Tuscan Rs, the Mantis GTOs should outnumber the Blackpool cars, at least in the first half of the season.
