Pescarolo Sport’s green Courage C60 has ventured to Barcelona for its maiden foreign test, the team sharing the track with Audi.
Sébastien Bourdais completed 30 laps on wet tyres on Tuesday, before having slicks fitted for a quicker run at the end of the day. A gearbox problem was cured easily enough.
On Wednesday, Bourdais ran around 60 laps. His best time was believed to be a 1:33, compared to Audi’s 1:32. Rinaldo Capello and Laurent Aiello were in the R8, still fitted with 2000 bodywork.
The Philippe Gache Courage is expected to join Audi and Panoz for the major Michelin test at Valencia early next week. The SMG C60 has exchanged Pirellis for Michelin for 2001, and are anticipating more speed as a result.
Yves Courage is still hoping to resume his engine contract with Nissan, and use their V8 at Le Mans this year in a factory C60.
