Autometrics Motorsport are entering this Rennlist.com / Case-it RSR in the Rolex 24, to be driven by Cory Friedman, UK domiciled Basil Demeroutis, Lynn Wilson and Adam Merzon.
Demeroutis won the Intermarque Championship in the UK in 2000, in a Porsche GT-3. For 2001, he moves to the re-vamped Porsche Cup where, given his experience in the ex-supercup car, he is tipped to be a series front-runner.
The Autometrics team tested extensively at Daytona International Speedway in November and again in January. Said Basil, “We had some very encouraging results and expect that the car will be competitive in the race, even against more up-to-date equipment. This likely will be one of the few air-cooled Porsches that will take the grid, yet the RSR should be very reliable over the 24 hours.”
