Larry Holt, Vice President of Multimatic, confirms that, “we will be back at Le Mans in 2001, with the same driver line-up as in 2000 (John Graham, Greg Wilkins and Scott Maxwell).”
Multimatic won the LMP675 class last year, of course. They will again use the B2K / 40 Lola, which will be developed by Multimatic’s own engineers, but “we will probably not use the Nissan engine,” explains Larry Holt. The team do not have a replacement engine lined up at this stage, “although John Nicholson is my first choice for engine development.”
Nicholson is known to have a suitable engine ready to drop into another 675 contender, which should see the light of day in the coming weeks.
