Suggestions that Mark Blundell and Johnny Herbert are in line for Bentley drives at Le Mans may be a little wide of the mark. Ex-F1 and CART drivers may have expectations that don’t match what’s on offer.
Younger, but equally capable, talent is more likely to fill the other three seats. Mark Blundell has indicated that he isn’t after an MG drive as he’s only interested in overall race wins. That would be a lot to expect of MG’s return, but in theory the 675 class cars generally (six cylinder turbos / 3.4 V8s) should be able to lap at virtually front-running pace.
MG have gone for younger talent (as well as experience).
