Plans Becoming Clear |

David Legangnuex has been studying today’s Auto Hebdo, where it is revealed that the rear ‘gear’ of the new Chrysler LMP will be replaceable within five minutes. Apparently engine work for this year has concentrated on fuel consumption, to enable the car to run an extra lap between stops and therefore save on at least two pit stops in the race.
Testing is planned for Barcelona, Valencia, Jarama, Valencia again, then Jerez... it's a ‘Spanish’ tour. One car will then be shipped to Sebring for the 12hrs, then a 24 hour test is scheduled at Jerez.
Pre Le Mans, if an extra race can be fitted in, that should be the ELMS event at Donington Park. Hughes de Chaunac makes it clear in Auto Hebdo that the car cannot run in the FIA SCC. “Par contre, la voiture n'étant pas éligible en FIA, s'il doit y avoir une course avant Le Mans, ce pourrait-être Donington en ELMS.”
Post Le Mans, the car should run at Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta. Testing problems have centred around the car’s electronics. Motoring News in the UK is indicating that the car will be fitted with a Judd V10 for further chassis testing, until the Mopar V8 problems are solved.
