The Johnsons Motorsport built car should be ready in time for the opening race of the season.<BR> <BR> Matt Johnson won the Renault Clio, Ford Fiesta and VW Vento titles, Robert Ross was the 1999 Proton champion, and Johnson Motorsport has won titles in four different one-make categories.<BR> <BR> “We've been building the Lotus for about five months now”, said Johnson. “It's going to be very difficult to take on the Porsches and TVRs, but this is a ground-up project and we've even done our own roll cage.”<BR> <BR> The engines are being built by Will Gollop, who has prepared Esprit GT(2) engines for several years.<BR> <BR> “I think the car will be strong. It will probably take a few races to get on the pace and GTO is going to be fantastic.
