Michael Caine was testing last year’s Speed 12 at Silverstone on February 9. Observers reported that the car was quickest during the bulk of the day and looked particularly smooth and stable, but may have experienced a serious engine mishap during the last session. Steve Hyde will be driving this car during 2001, Caine of course being in the new factory car (with BV-R).
John Reid at TVR confirms that “we’re working all hours to get the (GTO) Tuscan Rs finished. We should have one ready for the Media Day.” The Martin Short and Dennis Leech chassis are expected for the first race, with a third entry due to be announced very soon.
