Privilege Saleen S7 |
Looking Unlikely |
|
Last week’s news can go out of date so quickly. No sooner do the magazines get hold of a potential driver’s name than the project swings in another direction.
Paddock sources are fairly clear that a Saleen S7 won’t be seen in the Privilege GT Championship this year. That effort seems more likely to head in an ELMS direction, alongside another programme in that series run by Franz Konrad.
Ray Mallock Ltd may yet be involved in the Privilege Championship though – in the GTO class. If this comes off, it would be with a very interesting “new car to the Championship”, something that could really get among the Porsches. In another event on another continent, it already has.
GT teams do have a range of series to choose from this year, but that range is itself making planning and decision making so difficult. Last year, for UK based teams, it was simply ‘Privilege’ or ‘FIA’. Now look at the options out there.
