It was a cold and damp February day at Silverstone, which saw the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 of Michael Caine and Bobby Verdon-Roe at the top of the list, eight tenths of a second ahead of the Curtis Hayles Racing Chrysler Viper of Rob Wilson / Tim Harvey. "I think we'll be right there," said Verdon-Roe, who is eagerly awaiting the completion of the 2001 specification Speed 12. "We've had a very good day," confirmed Harvey from the Viper team.
The Lister Storm of Mike Jordan was third fastest, Jordan having his first drive in the car. "It is even better than I thought it would be."
The Parr Motorsport / PCGB Porsches were 1 – 2 in GTO, but the top three were split by less than a tenth of a second.
More from Silverstone tomorrow.
