Mauro Baldi and Didier Theys are looking to a repeat of last year’s Doran form this weekend, at the Nextel 250. They won at Homestead last year in the Ferrari - Judd, having only debuted the car at the Sebring 12 Hours.
“Last year, we started running really well when we came to Homestead,” said Kevin Doran. “After placing fifth at Sebring and fourth in Phoenix, we finally had our set-up just right, we were the fastest car out there and that’s what wins races. This year we have a car that has not reached it’s potential. But when it does - watch out. The car will fly.”
So Doran’s present task is to get the new Crawford up to speed as quickly as he did the 2000 Special, which set fastest qualifying and race laps at Homestead.
