At the PowerTour Media Launch, Roger Etcell announced a scheme to help race fans get to know the drivers. PowerTour Radio Commentators will give spectators four drivers to follow in each race. The categories are: Top Dog (the championship leader), Hot Shot (a regular front runner who will be coming through after, perhaps, problems in qualifying), Action Man (always one to look out for) and Talkers' Tip (the choice of the experts from PowerTour Radio).
We won’t have a Top Dog until after the end of Race 1 at Silverstone, but until then perhaps the most senior driver could be Old Dog? That won’t be Jamie Masarati any more, alas. Hot Shot sounds like Terry Rymer, Action Man ought to be Marcus Fothergill (if his exploits off the track – straight and narrow? - are anything to go by), while Talkers Tip could be Philip Hopkins; he reckons he’s going to be out-racing the Lister by Race 3.
