Tuesday Testing |
|
Stefan Johansson may have been quickest on Monday, but it was a factory R8 at the top of the timesheets after Tuesday's testing. Emanuele Pirro set an unofficial track record with a 1:48.708 in the last few minutes of Tuesday's session, inside the 1:48.825 set last year by Frank Biela.
The Champion Audi R8 of Dorsey Schroeder, Andy Wallace and Ralf Kelleners was second-fastest with a 1:50.594, while the second factory Audi driven by Rinaldo Capello, Laurent Aiello and Michele Alboreto was third on 1:50.727.
Stefan Johansson and Guy Smith were fourth-fastest with 1:51.055, so in terms of an Audi 1 - 2 - 3 - 4, it was no change from Monday.
The new, white Saleen was fastest in GTS (2:01.200), ahead of the Chevrolet Corvette C5-R of Andy Pilgrim, Kelly Collins and Franck Freon (2:02.411), followed by the second Corvette (2:02.411).
Sascha Maassen, Lucas Luhr and Emmanuel Collard led the GT class in their Alex Job Porsche (2:06.936), with Randy Pobst, Christian Menzel and Timo Bernhard was second on 2:07.978 in the sister car.
34 cars were out on the track on Tuesday.
