From there, it’s been an almost continuous pattern of growth and development, with Jock playing a key role liaising with the teams and getting the show set up at the tracks – plus many other assorted tasks that have to happen to ensure that a meeting that runs smoothly.<BR> <BR> "Obviously this is a major blow after letting GTs become part of my life and working so hard alongside the BRDC to build up the Championship during the winter and over the last five years,” said a sad Jock Simpson. “Unfortunately it is also very close to the start of what looks to be one of the best years ever for British GTs. It some ways it came as no great surprise, with so much changing in British Motor Sport. Naturally this leaves a hole in my planned 2001 income but hopefully I will still be able to keep in touch with the teams and friends that I have made over the years. I will miss them. I wish Alan well, he will be a very busy chap on race days!
