Is Back |

"It feels so good to be back," said Sospiri, referring to his drive in a Kelly-Moss Porsche at tomorrow’s Sebring 12 Hours. This will be his first drive for 18 months – a long, frustrating period for the racer, who has been recovering from a complicated shoulder operation, the legacy of an injury earlier in his career.
It looked as though he would return last August, in a Panoz at the Donington SRWC event. He had to pull out of that drive, after suffering severe pain in testing.
Sospiri was a back to back winner of the ISRS / SRWC in 1998 and 1999, and drove for Toyota at Le Mans in ’99.
"I have a lot of experience in endurance racing but Sebring will be a new experience for me: I am very excited by the challenge. My injury is much better now and all my training has gone so well that I like to think at this 12 hours as proof of my fitness."
