Besides the Belmondo Vipers and Mike Haines (ISC) Esprit, one of the Harlow Motorsport Porsches and three Eurotech Porsches were also tyre testing at Almeria last week. The British entries had Michel Neugarten in a couple of Perspective Racing FIA Porsches to measure their pace against.
Neugarten ended up grateful that Terry Rymer isn’t racing in the FIA GT Championship. After two days of set-up work by Adam Simmons and Rymer, the ex-motorcycle champion fitted some development tyres on the last day and matched the Belgian’s best in the two (911 GT3R and RS) Perspective cars.
Harlow Motorsport are in the process of fitting their RS engine in their GT3R, ready for a test at Brands Hatch on March 24.
Eurotech had a less rewarding time, with engine problems for all three cars present. Mark Sumpter and Shaun Balfe were in the former’s new GT3RS.
