Two Mantis GTOs Progressing |

Eclipse Motorsport are making steady progress with their two car Marcos GTO attack on the Privilege GTO category.
The team is currently building up their second car, drivers for which have yet to be finalised, which will line up alongside their heavily developed Mantis GTO that Shane Bland will drive this year.
Team principal John Griffiths said at the PowerTour Media Day that the team had been working on a lot of changes to the chassis and suspension and that they would have an increase in power from the 5.0 litre motor. Early testing indications this month have proved encouraging.
“We shook the car down earlier in the month at Snetterton and Shane (Bland) said that the car felt a lot more stable compared to last year. The chassis is a lot stiffer and is working better into and out of the corners. We know we are heading in the right direction now and from the times we have set so far we know we are making progress.”
The major changes to the car are under the skin, however, externally the car looks different with the relocation of the exhaust to the side of the door - à la GT class LM600 – and a slightly modified bonnet, which houses an all new “in house” air intake system.
The team are testing a possible second driver to partner Bland this year later this week, although no details of who it is have yet been released.
