Marc Laffeas has discovered that the Courage C60 retired at Sebring owing to a 'gearbox command failure' which resulted in over-revving of the engine and subsequent failure.
The Sodemo engineers apparently detected a weakness in the engine of the Le Mans car last June, but revised pistons hadn't been delivered in time for the Sebring engine to be built up with them. The team are expecting to use the improved parts at Barcelona for the first round of the FIA Championship.
Henri Pescarolo is hoping to repeat his exploits of last June in the 69th running of the 24 Hours - beat everyone except the Audis.
